About the Book:
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” –Genesis 1:1-2 (NIV)
Whenever I read Genesis 1, I’m struck by the awesomeness of the scene. How incredible it must have been to see the moment God spoke into the void and suddenly light appeared. How amazing to see dry land rise from the waters, and to watch plants sprouting from the Earth for the first time. In See What God Made! Bostrom perfectly captures the wonder and excitement of all that the Lord created. Sparkling lights, whistling whales, and singing birds enter the scene all in order, filling the world God made with life, color, and music.
Janet Samuel’s vibrant, full-color, full-page illustrations adds to the overall feel of wonder and joy. She adds motion and activity to each page, so that there are plenty of details for kids to look at and come back to over and again.
Each scene shows the goodness of God’s creation. Through the language chosen and all the unique plants and animals pictured, the joys to be discovered in God’s world are on full display. Bostrom wraps up the book with a final prayer of thanksgiving for what God created.
See What God Made! offers a beautifully crafted telling of the creation story. It’s a perfect book for families or for Sunday school classrooms.
