For Writers: A Virtual Master Class You Won’t Want to Miss!

“It’s none of their business that you have to learn to write. Let them think you were born that way.”
—Ernest Hemingway

Although the best writing looks effortless, writing takes an incredible amount of work. As writers, we constantly strive to hone our abilities and grow. We practice. We read. And when we can, we attend conferences and classes to learn from fellow writers.

With COVID-19 still an issue, many conferences are moving to online platforms. These virtual writing classes makes accessing great instruction easier because you don’t even have to leave home! Local Greenville Conference Write2Ignite is joining the online-class community this year.

Write2Ignite, a Christian conference focused on writing for kids and teens, aims to provide authors with instruction, inspiration, encouragement, and community. In light of this goal, they’ve decided to provide one-day Master Class workshops to help writers build specific skills.

Their first Master Class, Fiction for Children & Young Adults, features author and teacher Joyce Moyer Hostetter. For $79 USD, participants can join Joyce via Zoom on Saturday, September 19, 2020 for a full day of writing lessons and hands-on activites.

What to Expect From the Master Class:

You can find the full writing schedule on the Write2Ignite website, but here’s a quick snapshot of the sessions offered:

The Write2Ignite team stresses their dedication to helping writers grow. “We strive to create a constructive schedule of events that will help you increase your knowledge of writing Christian literature for children and young adults. Each of our events is created with you, the writer, in mind,” the team says in their description of the event. This Master Class will combine instruction with guided activities to help writers of any level sharpen their skills.

Why I Recommend Write2Ignite:

I’ve attended the Write2Ignite conference for four years now. No matter how many times I go, I always learn something new. And without fail, I leave feeling refreshed. Because the Write2Ignite community focuses on Christ, they can encourage Christian writers in both their craft and faith. It’s a prayer-filled group of people who share a mutual love for writing for kids, making it a unique environment. If you’re a Christian writer for youth, this is an opportunity to connect with authors who share your passion.

The Master Class looks different from Write2Ignite’s previous events, but it still offers a great growing opportunity for writers. If you’re interested, you can click here to register online by September 14th.

Happy Writing!
